Welcome
In the past years with the idea of Heinz Grill, new climbing routes have been created on the coast of Sicily. These are great multi pitch routes which lead elegantly through the formations and colours of the limestone cliffs.
They allow diversified and flowing climbing and have certainly an alpine character. The belay stations are well appointed and the the pitches are predominantly for self-securing with nuts, Friends and threads.
The mountain Monte Gallo is right next to Palermo an has several peaks. The knew routes are at the big wall Santa Margherita and at the smaller, good accessible Quota 280.
Overview of the routes
At the Quota 280 is the easiest route Via 'Gli infedeli' ideal for starting in this area. Also right next Via 'Solstizio d’inverno' and Via 'I battitori liberi' are still easier to moderate.
The other routes at the Quota 280 are graded more demanding and partly longer. But as well inviting and good manageable.
The big routes at the Santa Margherita have unique and varied passages. Climbing through the whole wall is magnificent and because of the wall height and the longer access and descent a extensive adventure.
Great joy in climbing!
These routes are a part of my largest climbing experiences I have ever done. That is why I have created this homepage with the aim to hold on the special moments and put all informations together for a renewed tour.
Have fun!
